Run your link in bio from Claude

You can run your isall.me page straight from Claude by connecting the isall.me MCP server. Once it's wired up, you tell Claude what to change in plain language and it updates your live page through your account.

No dashboard clicking, no copy-paste. You type "add my new single to the top of my page" and it happens.

This guide walks through the setup and what you can actually do with it. It's part of our developer cluster, so if you'd rather read the full reference, the hub lives at https://isall.me/developers.

What is the isall.me MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets an AI assistant like Claude talk to an outside tool in a structured way.

The isall.me MCP server is a small program that runs on your machine and gives Claude a set of actions it can take on your page: add a link, reorder links, change your theme, read your analytics, and so on. Claude decides which action to use based on what you ask.

It ships on npm as isallme-mcp, so you don't install anything by hand. Claude launches it on demand with npx.

If you're new to the idea, we wrote a plain-English explainer over at /blog/what-is-an-mcp-link-in-bio that's worth a read first.

What you need before you start

Three things:

  • A Claude Desktop app (or another MCP-capable client). The steps below use Claude Desktop.
  • An isall.me Pro account. Developer access, including API tokens, is a Pro feature. Pro is 24 dollars per year with a 0 percent fee on tips and sales.
  • An API token that starts with isam_. You mint this yourself in the dashboard.

Node.js also needs to be installed, since npx comes with it. Most developers already have it.

Step 1 to 5: setup walkthrough

Here's the whole thing start to finish.

  1. Log in and open the Developer tab. Go to your isall.me dashboard and find the Developer section. This is where tokens live.

  2. Mint an API token. Click to create a new token. You'll get a string starting with isam_. You can choose a read-only token if you only want Claude to look at analytics and never change anything, or a full token if you want it to edit your page. Copy it now, because you won't see the full value again.

  3. Open your Claude Desktop config. In Claude Desktop, go to Settings, then Developer, then edit the config file. This is a JSON file that lists your MCP servers.

  4. Add the isall.me server entry. Inside the mcpServers object, add an entry that runs the server with npx and passes your token as an environment variable. It looks like this:

    • command: npx
    • args: -y isallme-mcp
    • env: ISALLME_TOKEN set to your isam_ token

In plain JSON, you're adding a key called isallme under mcpServers, with a command of npx, args of ["-y", "isallme-mcp"], and an env block containing ISALLME_TOKEN with your token value. Keep the token in quotes.

  5. Restart Claude Desktop. Fully quit and reopen it so it picks up the new config. When it comes back, you should see the isall.me tools available. Ask Claude "what's on my isall.me page right now?" to confirm the connection works.

That's it. If the first question comes back with your real links, you're connected.

What you can actually say

Once it's running, you talk to your page like you'd talk to an assistant. Some things that work:

  • "Add a link to my new YouTube video and put it at the top."
  • "Change my theme to the dark one."
  • "Which of my links got the most clicks last week?"
  • "Remove the old merch link and swap in this new store URL."
  • "Reorder my links so the newsletter signup is second."

Claude reads your request, picks the right action, and applies it. If it's about to change something, it'll usually show you what it plans to do first.

The honest version: this isn't a magic auto-poster. It does exactly what you ask, when you ask. If you want scheduled or automatic updates, you point a script or an agent at the tools yourself, which we cover in /blog/ai-agent-link-in-bio.

Read-only vs full tokens

Worth calling out because it matters for trust.

  • A read-only token lets Claude see your page and analytics but never change anything. Good for "how's my page doing" questions without any risk.
  • A full token lets Claude edit. Use this when you actually want it managing the page.

You can mint both and keep them separate. If a token ever leaks, revoke it in the Developer tab and mint a fresh one. Treat isam_ tokens like passwords: don't paste them into public chats or commit them to a repo.

Why bother running your page from Claude?

Fair question. For a lot of people the dashboard is fine.

Where this earns its keep is when editing your page is a chore you keep putting off. Dropping a new link becomes one sentence. Checking what's working becomes one question. And if you already live in Claude for other work, your link in bio joins the same workflow instead of being one more tab.

It's also just genuinely nice to manage a live web page in conversation. We're proud of the AI-native angle here, and the MCP server is the cleanest way to feel it.

FAQ

Do I need to be a developer to use this?

Not really. You need to be comfortable editing one JSON config file and pasting a token. If you can follow the five steps above, you can run it. You don't write any code.

Is the MCP server free?

The server itself is a free npm package. But it needs an isam_ token to do anything, and tokens are a Pro feature. So in practice you need isall.me Pro, which is 24 dollars a year.

Can Claude accidentally break my page?

It can only do what your token allows. Use a read-only token if you want zero risk of changes. With a full token, Claude generally confirms edits before making them, and every change is reversible in your dashboard.

What if I use a different AI assistant?

Any MCP-capable client works the same way. The config format varies slightly by app, but the idea is identical: run npx -y isallme-mcp with ISALLME_TOKEN set. Check your client's docs for where its MCP config lives.

Claim your link and mint a token

Ready to run your page from Claude? First you need a page and a token.

Create your link at https://isall.me/signup, upgrade to Pro, then open the Developer tab to mint your isam_ token. Add the MCP entry from Step 4, restart Claude, and start editing your bio by talking to it.
